Custom designed furniture is a big investment for many of you. Investment into something very unique and special that exactly suit your needs. The best way to ensure you get maximum return on your investment is to have solid plan in place. These five steps should guide you through the whole process and make you understand it better.
1. Preliminary Concept Development – $0.29/minute
- Knowing what you want can save you a lot of money. When it comes to singe peaces of furniture like dinning table or entertainment unit many times you know what you want or have something you like, that need to be modified to better fit your space or color scale.
- Discussing all your needs, material, hardware preferences and budget takes place first in order to advise and help you to get maximum based on your needs or budget.
- Once agreed on details and conditions 25% deposit is required based of preliminary design time and cost estimate.
2. Drafting / 3D Sketching – $0.89/minute
- Once the concept has been established, in terms of size, proportions and function there is a CAD drawing or 3D sketch with basic textures and coloring done based on information discussed in first concept development stage.
- The importance of having the concept done in 3D is essential to show how exactly is the furniture going to fit with in your space. Many companies offer 3D modeling as an extra service for their customers, we consider 3D as our main tool to design with.
3. Rendering - $1.19/minute
- Photo-realistic rendering is a purely optional service that can generate a real like image of your conceptual 3D drawing.
- This technique has been used mainly in gaming and movie industry where specific materials and textures are applied to your 3D model to be rendered in to a photo-realistic image.
4. CNC Programming / Material Nesting – $0.49/minute
- Most of the cabinetry and furniture today is begin cut using CNC Machines. In order to have furniture cut on CNC Machine, the design need to be translated in to a CAD software that comes with each CNC machine.
- Huge advantage of having a 3D design being translated into CNC code is, that computer can automatically nest all materials used and estimate exactly of how much material is needed for each project witch gives you a complicate control over the cost of material used.
5.Design Finalizing
- Right after all design and programming processes has been finalized and final design approved the final drownings are released to you after receiving of the final payment.
- You have an option after design finalization to have your project priced with other woodworking professionals or we will be more than happy to build it for you as well.
