Like I mentioned already before, in fireplace wall unit, while talking about video and entertainment related furnishing, custom furniture because of the fact that this technology is more and more fordable and more easily accessible… Entertainment furniture is on fire and this exclusive pace is no exception. Custom designed and build, lacquered walnut, audio / video equipment cabinet with CNC sculptured and painted MDF door panels inspired by sound wave illustrations. This 82″ long and 32″ high audio cabinet is fully perforated through every single gable, shelf and back panel for absolute air circulation to prevent audio & video equipment heat build-up and to maximize the audio & video equipment performance. Left portion is fully dedicated to equipotent where the whole right half of the cabinet can store up to 500 cds in pull-out, heavy duty drawers.

Backlit Onyx Bar

Last week I was in touch with Toronto interior designer Laura Hay. She was in need of a custom 7ft free standing dry bar for one of her interior design projects. Dry bars are not a very common furniture item. These bars are different from wet bars because they do not have sink with running water and can be placed anywhere because of the lack of need for this access. Laura’s material choice for this furniture piece was somewhat unusual from the beginning I thought but once I put her sketches into a 3-D view the combination of the back-lit onyx stone countertop, the chrome foot rail, the leather upholstery and dark-wood worked to create a very striking and original piece that I’m happy to share with you. Rosewood Wall Unit

Wall units are very popular furniture pieces, especially with today’s wide array of entertainment technologie. Though I am not the biggest fan of traditional furniture, I’d like to share this one with you. Upon a request from Toronto interior designer Marcia Boule to create a traditionally styled wall unit inspired by 17th century “Ethan Allen” and its early-American furniture style, I designed a piece using Indian Rosewood for its strong and unpredictable grain structure and excellent appearance after polishing. This wall unit has tall open shelving on both sides, that can also be closed with doors, and curved front drawer faces down the middle of the unit. The entire structural integrity of the unit lies in its legs and solid wood posts on each corner which was the typical constructional style for its time. I have to say, though I’m not a “traditional furniture dude”, I like this one.

When it comes to furniture, walnut is one of my favourite woods to use. Not only does it work well with brass, stainless steel and chrome, but it also works well on its own. The rich, dark colour and retro wood grain makes walnut the most ideal choice in modern interior design and this dresser is no acception. Selling for $2900, large modern / contemporary 60″L x 20″D x 28″H 6 drawer walnut dresser, custom designed and made from combination of solid walnut wood and veneered plywood to fit any existing modern metropolitan interior.

Sprinkler Room

Custom mill-work piece surrounding existing sprinkler pipes in basement of just recently finish Firkin Pub on King st. in Toronto downtown just one block east of Spadina st. Original design was suppose to have red doors to give it a traditional English / Irish pub look, but I believe they decided to paint them black so it kind a melt it all together in actuality. I’d love to share this beautiful custom millwork peace with you the way it was meant to be Extending the top trim gives it even lager header and finishing it with crown molding above the rabit molding trimmed recessed-panels.

Kitchen Design

Full conceptual kitchen design done for a Toronto residential client including 3D sketches and photo realistic renderings ready for CNC manufacturing. White melamine cabinetry with withe painted MDF profiled doors and crown molding on the top gives kitchen typical traditional country side look.

Restaurant patio design
