Simple TV stand

In this particular job I had to considering size, style and budget. I had to made a simple TV stand that can store CD, DVD and games, plus at the same time be suitable for contemporary Toronto condo, finished basement or cool teen bedroom.

In most design scenarios, only contrasting combination of colors, like in this case for example, red, black and white could fulfill the need for very modern style. Strong, straight and clean lines can make this TV stand looking elegant plus be functional at the same time and store all audio-video equipment or game console.

Client received couple of options and after all I think overall design with this color combination came out very nice, functional and stylish. This TV stand is not only affordable but also attractive and pretty good solution for clutter-free living.

Backlit Onyx Bar

Last week I was in touch with Toronto interior designer Laura Hay. She was in need of a custom 7ft free standing dry bar for one of her interior design projects. Dry bars are not a very common furniture item. These bars are different from wet bars because they do not have sink with running water and can be placed anywhere because of the lack of need for this access. Laura’s material choice for this furniture piece was somewhat unusual from the beginning I thought but once I put her sketches into a 3-D view the combination of the back-lit onyx stone countertop, the chrome foot rail, the leather upholstery and dark-wood worked to create a very striking and original piece that I’m happy to share with you. Exhibit booth display

Exhibit booth displays and corporate kiosks are usually very complimented, for the most part curved or banded structures with one mission in mind – to get your attention. I jut had a change to work on one of these intricate designs for Toronto Pearson International Airport kiosk booth presenting new products of Capital One. Cool think about this whole design is that almost every peace that is on the floor is on casters and can be quickly rearranged or moved from one place to another. I had a chance to wok on many Toronto custom trade show / exhibition booths, displays, kiosks, and signs before but I have to say this one was one of the more intricate once.

I like, especially, when design professionals and visual artists come together and create something amazing like this custom puzzle table by Inksurge for a graphic and furniture design exhibit. Originally what caught my attention was a CNC carving detail but later I found out it was done using laser The item is even on sale but “on a limited run only” author says.

Lego Boardroom Table

An amazing project Boys & Girls initialized by abgc architecture & design firm from Dublin in Ireland that takes a fairly simple commodity and turning it into amazing, functional, modern and color full (4ft x 9ft) peace of furniture that stands out like no other. The table consists of 22,742 lego pieces put together without glue or other fasteners and sits on a polished Stainless Steel square hollow structure. The whole construction process was even captured by 8000 photos that was turned in to 2 minute animation. check it out.
